An easy 10

M'watch 'n' me

M'watch 'n' me

Yay! I ran my ten miles with just one walk break to have some water. It felt really easy, and my legs didn’t start feeling tired at all until about the 8th mile (you’ll recall I felt horrible at about 4 miles last week), and it’s because I was super super slow; as you can see on my watch, it took 2:04—yikes! But my goals for this run were to control my pace so that I wouldn’t need to walk (and my heart wouldn’t explode) and try not to break anything. Done (and done) and done. And I got to pass someone—not elderly, by the way—when I was somewhere in my ninth mile.

By the way, another reason to get up early to run: infomercials! What’s more motivating than pre-run espresso and toast with Tony Horton and people with washboard abs?

(Wow, looking at that picture, I just noticed that I’ve got the white-on-black and black-on-white Eurotrash thing going on. Sweet.)

  1. Rachel!! I’m so proud of you. 10 miles is a HUGE accomplishment. And not stopping? An even bigger one. You are going to ROCK your half. I mean it.

  2. Glad to find your blog. Great job on the 10 miler. The key to any distance is your pace. Sounds like you have it going on. Can’t wait to follow your journey.
