YES!!!!!!!

It’s been a great week so far. I have been a productive little bee, cut 9 inches off my hair, made some impulsive but fabulous decisions, kept up with horrible indoor cycling (the premiere of Chuck and American Idol could not have come at a better time!), done yoga and gotten so many house projects done it is not even funny. But that’s not even the best news. Are you ready for the best news? The biggest, most exciting news you’ve heard or will hear all day? Guess what the doctor said to me this morning?

“You look good. Go run.” I kind of just stared at him and said, “what??” and he replied with, “go find your pace again. Don’t go more than six but you can run.” I almost hugged him. I asked about a follow-up and he said, “only if it’s something you and your foam roller can’t deal with.”

I could not be more excited. Guess what? I get to run.

Although I’m expecting the path back to running to be difficult I am never going to take my morning runs for granted again. I’m sure there will be moments I won’t want to go but that’s when I’ll remind myself that I could be cycling indoors and sweating all over my floor watching TV. And I’ll remember how boring that was and put my running shoes on.

So that’s my news. I’m sure my issue isn’t completely healed– my IT is still sore, but the fact that it’s coming back around is so exciting I can hardly stand it. I’m going to be conservative and alternate cross training with running until I feel 100% but I have hope. Hope that I can still acheive my running goals. Hope that I might even get a little faster. Hope that I’ll get to wander around my neighborhood, listening to tunes and having a great time. I can’t wait.

Happy Wednesday everyone. Can you tell I’m excited? Cause I totally am.
